Starts and Sits- July 22

Trevor Bauer (CLE) vs BAL

Baltimore has been going through a terrible offensive slump over the past week, batting .197 with a paltry .297 slugging percentage. Bauer has not been his renaissance-like self these past two starts but facing the struggling O’s could see him bounce back with superb numbers.

Adam Conley (MIA) vs NYM

The southpaw has been racking up strikeouts by the handful these past two months, having averaged 9.48 Ks per nine inning between June and July . He will aim to do the same against a Mets offense that hits .244 against lefties.

Tanner Roark ($8,700) vs SDP

Roark has had the best season of his career so far in 2016, but a slugging Padres offense could put a dent into that previous statement. Matt Kemp has hit four home runs in the past week while Ryan Schimpf and Yangervis Solarte are batting over .310 in the same span.

Marco Estrada ($8,400) vs SEA

Estrada is returning from the 15-day disabled list to face a Mariners offense that has tailed off a bit this past week. But several hitters on the M’s have the righties’ number on speed dial. Nelson Cruz is 4-for-5 with a home run lifetime while Kyle Seager has seen success against him as well.

Daily Fantasy Baseball Notes: July 22, 2016

Justin Turner, 3B (LAD)

Brandon Belt, 1B (SF)

Unlike Turner, Brandon Belt has been ice cold. Over his past 5 games, Belt has a 45.5% strikeout rate, has an OPS of .139, and -63 wRC+.

Odubel Herrera, OF (PHI)

Odubel Herrera is also in a similar situation. In his last 28 plate appearances, he is hitting .115/.179/..192, with .150 wOBA and -18 RC+.

Josh Donaldson, 3B (TOR) vs. L

In 2016, Donaldson is crushing left-handed pitching. In 109 plate appearances, Donaldson owns a slash line of .349/.477/.628 with 12 XBH, 19.3% walk rate, 191 wRC+, and 40.5 % hard contact rate.

David Ortiz, 1B (BOS) vs. R

In his last season of his career, Ortiz is definitely going out with a bang, especially against right-handed pitching. Against righties, Ortiz is hitting .349, has 21 HR, 61 RBI, 30 2B, 202 wRC+, 22.99 % line-drive rate, and a 46 % hard contact rate!

Jose Altuve, 2B (HOU) vs. Matt Shoemaker

7-17, .412/.500/.824, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 1 2B, 2 BB

Nelson Cruz, OF (SEA) vs. Marco Estrada

4-5, .800/.833/1.600, 1 HR, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 BB

SP Starts and Sits: July 21st

Adam Wainwright: ($9,200)

Wainwright has looked like the ace of old, having allowed just one earned run in his last 23 innings of work. He will be facing a Padres offense that has struggled over the past week, hitting just .229 while striking out at a 26.5 percent rate, second-worst in baseball.

Matt Moore ($8,100)

The southpaw has stringed together four strong outings in a row and looks to do the same against the A’s. He has logged a 2.70 ERA in three July starts, albeit pitching more to contact, but playing in a favorable pitcher’s park could see him go deep into the ball game. With the Rays offense being hot, the coveted ‘Win’ can be in play as well.

Mike Foltynewicz ($6,600)

The man known as Folty has been superb over his past two outings as he has showcased better command of his pitches by walking just 2.09 batters per nine, but his home-run per flyball rate can hurt him in Coors Field. Even with the Rockies hitting below-average as a team, do not be fooled by his season numbers and cheap price.
